Today we were doing a ride to coincide with meeting up wives / husbands and the ladeees ride, at the Rose & Crown in Ridgemont.

4 of us - Col, Mike the dentist, Yoshiand I, left Brog at nearly 11 and took the usual trek over to Woburn. It was very muddy after all the rain yesterday. In the woods the tracks were churned up. Big puddles in places to try and slalom around. Very quickly we were covered in it, bikes with rusty ropes instead of chains and pockmarked faces. We were joking about everything and having a right laugh today.

On the return we went thro the Rhodedendrons and down the RH of the sand track. On the return we did Sparky's Wall, I got some air off the jump at the end.

On the ride home Mike picked up a thorn so we stopped to repair it. First atempt failed, second was OK. We were last to arrive at the pub, except the Dogfather that is. Denise had brought the car over and a change of clothes for me. So it was nice to sit in the pub clean and dry and not poxy and damp. There were 16 of us there, but grumpy Guru was hurumphing and couldn't make it, something t do with a new sport called "Extreme Dental Flossing", which is not for the faint hearted.

The grub was good value, nice roast lamb and a pint of Eagle. Cheers Col & Sue.
